Miracle of the Roses May 2026 Construction Update

BUILDING ON THE ROCK FOUNDATION OF CHRIST AND THE SAINTS:
Please look out upon the new walls being erected on the beautifully poured, fresh foundation of our new office building and adoration chapel. Underneath this, directly below where the altar of sacrifice will be in the new adoration chapel, several sacred images and items were buried. We rest on the rock foundation of our Lord, filling the church from her beginning in through and with Christ.
Here is what has been done in the past few weeks:

  • 14,000 square feet of sod covers the front lawn which serves as a storm water management area, some areas have been seeded due to the unfinished site preparation.
  • Composted sewage sludge (organic matter, vital to the sustainability of plants) was spread two inches over the entire area and pulverized / tilled into a depth of four inches.
  • The area was hand raked of landscape debris (large sticks, old asphalt, construction debris, etc.) and that material was disposed (could not be composted).
  • The area was then rolled to push out soft areas and to get proper leveling.
  • Final tilling was done again and repeated the previous steps.
  • 1,000 pounds of lime will be applied to get the soil pH to 6.2.
  • Hybrid Bermuda sod was laid Monday, May 18 in 95+ degree heat! This species of grass is drought and heat tolerant, an excellent performer in full sun environments. This species is also disease and insect free and cold hardy. A very sustainable choice.
  • The sod will be watered daily with well water to get the sod to begin to root into the prepared soil.
  • The sod will take one month plus to be fully established requiring no foot and no vehicle traffic on the newly installed sod. Please do not walk on this sod. Thank You.
  • The trees and shrubs planted in this section will be redressed with fresh mulch when the time is appropriate.
  • During this time, the mowing contractor will continue to mow the Route 17 ditch and around the Crape Myrtles that have a 12-inch weed barrier around the main stem. This barrier is to protect the tree trunk from any injury due to a string trimmer.
