“Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.”
(1 Timothy 4:12)
Hey everyone! I’m proud and honored to serve you as your Youth & Young Adult Minister. I was born in Calcutta, India (and am proud to say that I’m almost100% Indian!), but moved to south Florida nine months later when my family immigrated. Ten years later, we moved to my hometown of La Grange, KY.
The oldest of seven, I was homeschooled all the way through highschool before entering the Fathers of Mercy, a religious order in Bowling Green, KY. I spent four amazing years (2015-2019) in the seminary and religious life, before discerning that God had other plans for me. Those plans included finishing my BA in Philosophy from Holy Apostles College… and then being hired at St. Joan of Arc in the summer of 2020, right after I graduated! Prior to being a Youth & Young Adult Minister, I worked as a Food Service Worker (basically a glorified dishwasher) at a hospital.
Other jobs I’ve held include a Food Manufacturing Worker, a YMCA Lifeguard & Swim Instructor, & a Summer Camp Counselor. In my spare time, I enjoy calling back home & talking to my parents (Joseph & Alison) and my six siblings (Johann, Jude, Agnes, Mariela,Kateri, & Magdala); watching movies & mystery shows; playing sports like basketball, soccer, running, & Ultimate; cooking (& eating!); singing & listening to music; and cheering on my two favorite college basketball teams-the Louisville Cardinals… and whoever’s playing the Kentucky Wildcats! It has been a blessing to serve at St. Joan of Arc and to form our youth & young people to be, not the Catholic Church in the future… but the Catholic Church right now! The Catholic Church is truly young and alive.
We young Catholics should never say we are too young to follow Christ, because He’s already entrusted us with a mission to bring His Good News, our great Catholic Faith, to those we encounter. Our youthfulness is not a weakness, but a great strength & source of energy to do this. It’s my goal to help the youth & young adults of SJA tap into that energy & transform it into an undying fire & passion for Jesus Christ and His Kingdom, the Catholic Church. I’m looking forward to meeting you and getting to know and serve you better! Take care & God bless.
