Contemporary Ensemble
The eight-thirty-am ensemble is a group of singers and instrumentalists who enjoy a wide variety of spirited liturgical music. This ensemble is open to high school and college students who enjoy singing or who are skilled in instrumental playing: guitars, woodwinds, and keyboard. Proclaimed is music that reflects our Catholic heritage from around the world. While using traditional music as our connection with worshipers at the other weekend Masses, we explore the best “new” liturgical music available. We look forward to expanding the number of in instrumentalists and singers this year.
Jubilate Chorale
For Adults, College Students, Advanced High School Singers
The Jubilate Chorale, JAMM’s traditional SATB ensemble, sings a wide variety of sacred music with special emphasis on our rich classical Catholic heritage. If you do not know how to read music or would like to learn the fundamentals of singing, please come and join us. Many of our members read music, but many others are in the process of learning. The Jubilate Chorale ordinarily leads sung worship at the 11:00 am Mass on Sundays; at times it rotates to other Masses.
The Jubilate Chorale participates in a variety of liturgies throughout the year including Triduum, special events and concerts. Special music is prepared for Advent, Christmas, Lent and Holy Week, the Triduum and Easter and, at times, for Lessons and Carols and a Spring Concert of Sacred Music.
Resurrection Choir
Provides music for funeral liturgies at St. Joan of Arc Church
The Resurrection Choir is a ministry that not only blesses those who sing, but it is a ministry to the parishioners of St. Joan of Arc at a very difficult time in their lives. This ministry was initiated in the Spring of 2009 and has been both gift and comfort to those in our parish community.
Cantor Schola
For adults and youth confirmed in the Catholic Faith
The Cantor Schola is a select group of singers whose gifts include singing and proclaiming God’s word through song. It is not necessary to be a member of a musical group in the parish in order to serve as a cantor. Entrance to the schola is by audition – please contact Kate Mousavizadegan to schedule your audition if you think you are being called to be a cantor. Monthly formation programs will enable many of our cantors to achieve certification through the National pastoral Musicians (NPM) organization.
Instrumentalists
For experienced adults, or skilled high school players
Strings players, guitarists, woodwinds, brass players, keyboard players: if you are being called to lend your skills to worship at St. Joan of Arc, please make yourselves known to Kate Mousavizadegan or any of the musicians in JAMM.
