Do not forget about Youth Group! Youth Ministry is engaging High School Students both socially and spiritually from 6:30-8:30 on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays and from 6:00-8:30 on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. These nights start with an Emmaus Dinner at 6:30pm. 

Wednesday night meetings will begin with an Emmaus dinner at 6:00 and will transition into Praise and Worship.

Verso L’alto (Upperclassmen Discipleship Group):

This will be an opportunity for upper classmen teens (11th-recent grads) to dive deeper into their faith. This discipleship group will meet once a week for eight weeks on Wednesday mornings following mass starting on June 21st in one of the classrooms. The program will give teens the opportunity fall more totally in love with the Source & Summit of our Faith. As Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati coined it, Verso L’alto or ‘Toward the Top.’ Contact amccarthy@stjoanofarcva.org to register.

Tuesday, June 20: – Graduation Cookout!
All youth and their families are welcome to join in celebrating our graduating seniors and in kicking off the summer. Please contact amccarthy@stjoanofarcva.org if you plan to attend. All are asked to please bring a side dish to share.

Friday, June 30: Water Country USA:
Enjoy some Fun in the Sun and spend the last Friday in June with other youth at Water Country USA. We will meet in the church parking lot at 9:30am and carpool to the park. If you are in need of park passes please contact amccarthy@stjoanofarcva.org ASAP. To attend or to volunteer as a parent driver please RSVP by June 22nd.

July 6 – 9 Steubenville Youth Conference Atlanta
(Elevate: “Behold, I make all things new.”) The conference combines awesome talks, incredible music, praise and worship, time for prayer and fellowship, entertainment, and liturgies. This conference is open to all high school-aged youth (rising 9th graders through graduating 12th graders).

July 11-14: Quo Vadis:
‘Quo Vadis’ is a Latin phrase which translated means “Where are you going?” The goal of the Quo Vadis Camp is to bring high school aged men (10th-12th grade) together who desire to grow in faithful discipleship and personal holiness to be better able to discover their own vocation invitation from our Lord, whatever that might be. This is accomplished through a four day experience that is highly energetic, fun, active, prayerful, and meant to build fellowship among the participants. The cost is $125 and scholarships are available.

July 22: Busch Garden’s Trip and Concert:
Join youth ministry for an amazing day of thrills and fun at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The day will end with a powerful concert by the Christian musicians Jeremy Campo and Rend Collective. We will meet in the church parking lot at 9:30am and carpool to the park. If you are in need of park passes please contact amccarthy@stjoanofarcva.org ASAP.

July 24 – 30 Life Teen Camp at Hidden Lake, Dahlonega, GA
Summer Camp with Life Teen is an incredible opportunity to bring your teen into an incredible experience of the faith. For over 10 years, Life Teen has provided experiences at summer camp where your high school teen is able to able to be free and confident in him/herself, develop new friendships with other teens from your parish, and encounter God working in his/her life. This camp is for those entering 9th grade for the 2017 – 2018 school year through 2017 high school graduates and costs a total of $270. This trip is currently full but we will accept youth on a waiting list.

July 26-28: Fiat Days:
“Fiat” is a Latin word that refers to Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel, “May it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38). This camp brings 10th-12th grade women together who desire to grow in faithful discipleship and personal holiness to be better able to discover their own vocation from the Lord, with a special focus on the call to religious life. The cost is $100 and scholarships are available.
