Do not forget about Youth Group! Youth Ministry is engaging High School Students both socially and spiritually from 6:30-8:30 on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays and from 6:00-8:30 on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. These nights start with an Emmaus Dinner at 6:30pm. Wednesday night meetings will begin with an Emmaus dinner at 6:00 and will transition into Praise and Worship.

Events:

Tuesday, July 10th: Water Country USA: Enjoy some Fun in the Sun and spend the day with other youth at Water Country USA. We will meet in the church commons at 9:00 am for Mass and carpool to the park. Middle and High School Youth are welcome! If you are in need of park passes please contact amccarthy@stjoanofarcva.org ASAP. To attend or to volunteer as a parent driver please RSVP by July 5th. Drivers need to be VIRTUS trained prior to July 10th.

Friday, July 20th: Taco Movie Night Fundraiser: Youth Ministry is sponsoring a Taco and Fajita Dinner starting at 6:00 pm. Come out and enjoy great food, people, and a movie. Free will donations are encouraged and all proceeds go to support the youth.

Retreats/Camps:

July 29th – August 4th Life Teen Camp at Hidden Lake, Dahlonega, GA
Registration is open! Turn in your $100 deposit by to lock in your spot. Only 5 spots left!

Summer Camp with Life Teen is an incredible opportunity to bring your teen into an incredible experience of the faith. For over 10 years, Life Teen has  provided experiences at summer camp where your high school teen is able to able to be free and confident in him/herself, develop new friendships with other teens from your parish, and encounter God working in his/her life. This camp is for those entering 9th grade for the 2018 – 2019 school year through 2018 high school graduates. We will be traveling in a charter bus this year and will be going down a day early! Camp pricing is $300. Please turn in your deposit by May 10th to register. Contact Andrew McCarthy at amccarthy@stjoanofarcva.org for more information about the camp and payment plans. Full and partial scholarship may be available.

July 10th –July 13th Quo Vadis

Quo Vadis is a Latin phrase which translated means “Where are you going?” The goal of the Quo Vadis Camp is to bring high school aged men together who desire to grow in faithful discipleship and personal holiness to be better able to discover their own vocation invitation from our Lord, whatever that might be. This is accomplished through a four day experience that is highly energetic, fun, active, prayerful, and meant to build fellowship among the participants. Cost: $150 (Scholarships are available)

July 18th – July 20th Fiat Days

“Fiat” is a Latin word that refers to Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel, “May it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38). The goal of Fiat Days is to bring high school aged women together who desire to grow in faithful discipleship and personal holiness to be better able to discover their own vocation from the Lord, with a special focus on the call to religious life. We will be joined by religious sisters from several communities for this three-day retreat. Cost: $150 (Scholarships are available)
